Black Bean Burgers

1 can black beans, undrained
1 c. unseasoned bread crumbs
1 egg beaten (or 2 egg whites or 1/4 c. egg substitute)
1/2 c. wheat germ
1 T cumin
1 T chili powder
Salt and pepper to taste if you want

In a food processor or blender place the beans and liquid (all contents of the can) - mix into a paste. Place in a medium bowl. Stir in bread crumbs, only 1/4 c of the wheat germ, and egg.

Form into patties and coat in remaining wheat germ. In heated oil in skillet cook 10-15 minutes until crisp and cooked on both sides.

Eat on buns with any assortment of yummy topping! I love bbq sauce and guacamole with lettuce too, or vegan ranch dressing with salsa and lettuce...be creative!!

SOOO GOOD! I just topped mine with avacado and it was tasty! My husband put BBQ sauce on his. They even look a little like beef patties when you cook them. Crazy good recipe! I'll be making these again and often!
